I was looking to upgrade this pre built PC and put some newer things in. I made a pcbuild on pcpartpicker and I wanna know if this is compatible or nah?

I can't choose the CPU as its built in with the i4-4460 but in the future I could buy that one. Regarding the GPU, PSU and motherboard I posted on other forums and people advised me to get the 1060 and CX450M as the better options in $CAD. Should I get what you suggested or what they did?

For psu you can choose either. Both are good units.

For gpu the RX470 4gb cards run hotter and draws more power, but they have better DX12 support.
Where as the 1060 3gb runs cooler and draws less power, but DX12 support is not as good as amd.
Both are good mid range cards. Personally i prefer the Nvidia cards. But you can go with whatever fits your budget.

Can you give me the jist of what the DX12 support is about? I'm not really familiar with this stuff, also why do you personally prefer nvidia to amd?

dx12 means newer games will run better... in theory, its all about the drivers later down the road, something none of us can say what wll happen, and when it comes to preference, it really just is preference, its like comparing coke and pepsi, some like coke, some like pepsi, some dont care

Couldnt have explained it better.
