that is an adequate GPU based on that resolution, you might have to lower some effects. I am still using a EVGA GTX 660 SC and can play most games in 1080p as it is but i must always turn off/down some stuff. I say try the games out and if you dont get enough FPS with the effects you want then get a new video card like a GTX 1060.
it may run newer games the newer games use directx 12 some of the older gpu dont support it. you may have to turn down the eye candy on some games to play them.

I will try testing however I currently have an FX-6300 stock so I think my CPU will be hurting the framerate a lot.
