Hi all,

So I'm looking to upgrade my +4 year old lower-end gaming laptop to a new lower-end gaming laptop.

My old laptop features an Ivy i7-3610QM (+ a GeForce GT 640M).
I'm currently looking at a replacement with a Skylake i5-6300HQ (+ a GeForce GTX950).

I know that the graphics will be a clear upgrade, but I'm not sure about the CPU.

This comparison shows a higher performance for my old cpu...

...while this one gives the win to the newer one

I really wouldn't want to downgrade on the CPU performance side, so any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Solution
How much does this laptop cost? You wouldnt really be downgrading the processor, the single core performance of the newer i5 is more need for games, and with a GTX 950M it would be fine.

Ok, that sounds good. The price is (converted from my local currency) $1033/£843 but I've seen it on sale for $885/£722.
The specs are: Core i5-6300HQ, GeForce GTX950M, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD - and it's from ASUS.
