how do i get the board temp down if my CPU is at 56 deg and my board is at the moment 75 deg will a new CPU fan make a lot of difference? at the moment i have the case fully opened to see if i get it any cooler..
Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz 56 °C and the board
Dell Inc. 0R849J (CPU 1) 73 °C

or i don't suppose anyone could suggest a reasonably priced board upgrade where i would be able to keep my existing memory, graphics card etc.?? thanks

Can you put your hand near the motherboard and feel the heat? Is it hot to the touch? The sensor might be over-reading, and we don't know which part of the motherboard it is located on.

Point a fan at it and see if the temperatures go down.

i touched it on mine and it is quite hot .not hot enough to burn you but you don't want to keep you hand on it for long.
well i ran speedfan program as well and it said the same so i have got a 4" fan blowing on it and it has dropped the temp down to 49c..but the noise would drive me mad... it apears acording to another site it's the southbridge getting hot

Well i fitted another case fan a Powercool Glaciar Pro Series 12cm the temp's are now pretty stable at 56c on both temp's.. the southbridge was running at 72c. so all looks ok now i am also possibly going to change my CPU cooler to a Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo after advice on here.....

I have to say this case fan is a nice bit of kit quiet too...
