First off: I took photos

Yesterday I bought a HAF X case which is full tower (that also supports XL ATX), and a full ATX asus b150 gaming pro, and I built the parts that i have together. (Btw I did my research before buying).

And I am going to buy CPU water cooling "Corsair Hydro Series™ H105 240mm Extreme Performance".

Now I just noticed that only the 2 left screw holes around the CPU (for cooling) are visible and accesible. The 2 right ones are blocked by the case/backplate. I'm really panicing here because I saved up a LOT for this, and it's really wasn't easy, I'm 17 and there are absolutely no jobs around..

PLEASE help me with this. If there's a solution, if it's ok to only connect 2 - and if so, do I need to do something so my mobo won't fry?

An option I had in mind was to drill holes, tell me if that's an ok way and what to watch out and do/not do. But I really hope that's the last option

This is an in progress build, and I haven't bought a cpu yet (still saving money) please don't give me shit for not buying all the parts at once, it really doesn't help.

Thanks for anyone trying to help, I'm on my knees here..

@timeconsumer - no you're missing the point here , yes it'll fit fine with a stock cooler , no issues.
The h105 has a fairly deep plastic backplate & flat head chrome bolts - you need close to 10mm depth on the 4 screwholes surrounding the socket.

Only 2 of those holes are showing.

It does indeed look like a dremel job to me at the very least.
Could you clear up something for me? Are the screw holes blocked because the hole in the motherboard tray is too small and the motherboard tray is blocking them? If so, you just have to remove the motherboard from the case when you install the new cooler.

this^

nothing to worry about just get your mobo out of the case than mount the cpu cooler than mount it to the case.

This is a really good idea, but there is close to 0 space between the back of the mobo and the backplate. It really can't be done. Thanks for trying man, but I suppose I'm gonna have to saw the backplate

Yea, of course. but there is very little space between them, and (i suppose) what I screw behind the cpu has a bit of width.
Look at the pictures I posted of it

And this is the water cooler I'm gonna buy, though I'm realising it might not fit my case.. But I think I once saw a video on YouTube of someone installing this water cooler on my case (HAF X)

Your issue here is the board/case combo you picked mate.
That b150 has the CPU offset by an inch and a half compared to a standard layout to squeeze the 10 phase vrm & seperate heatapreader behind it.

The haf x only has a small tray cutout , just bad luck here on the parts you picked to go together.

Your motherboard does fit. The hole just doesn't line up. You don't remember it, but there was a time not too long ago when motherboard trays had no hole in them at all for access to the CPU cooler mounting. In fact my case I still use from 2007 doesn't have a hole in the MB tray.

Wait till it gets in and try it out, it will very likely fit just fine.

Thanks for confirming the depth needed. And there's not even close to 10mm of space there, so yea - guess I'm gonna have to take the mobo out, and fire up the tools... It really annoys me, the case only arrived yesterday and it was for ~ 240$ (converted currency) , and I got to saw it - WHY?! so stupid, at least it's the backplate so it won't be visible...

Thanks a lot for the help from everyone!

^ not really the fault of the case mate, while some cases have far bigger tray cutouts than the haf x , it would normally bebbig enough still

The issue is the Asus board has the CPU socket set farther towards the front of the board than what you'd consider standard.

Standard layout those front holes are roughly in line with the front of the pci-express slot

Asus pro gaming boards , they're 30mm past it.
