So I'm getting ready to move everything in my alienware into a bigger case to prepare to upgrade it, and I'm going to go ahead and grab a new psu. This is what I have been looking at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438048

I read in a thread elsewhere that my motherboard (Alienware 08PG26, from what I understand) wouldn't work with a 650w PSU. This sounds very odd to me, can anyone verify this?

Thanks in advance!

i dont see a reason why it shouldnt work as long as it has a cpu header and a 24 pin power which it does it should be fine i think the things your reading is that with the standard case it wouldnt work as you need a external brick for the original case

Yeah. after looking around a little bit more I think I should be fine with a 600w. Thanks for your help!

Do you happen to make it fit inside a regular ITX or tower case?
I found a used 8PG26 Alienware X51 board bundled with an i7 3770 for $100 (Not sure if its a good deal? Thoughts?)
And I'm just curious if I could use it altogether or if I should just keep the CPU.
