Just built my first rig, but can't get my GPU to display anything on my monitor. I've checked a few other threads about this issue and still can't seem to fix it. I've even bought a new HDMI cord to see if that could be the problem. The monitor definitely works. I made sure the PCIE power was connected. Any help would be greatly appreciated
PC specs:
AMD FX-8350
ASrock Fatality 990fx
Western digital Caviar 1TB
EVGA Bronze 500 watt Power Supply

My Motherboard unfortunately doesn't have Integrated graphics capabilities. What should I do from here?

Tough question. If you have another graphics card try that one. You aren't getting any sort of beep codes or anything like that, correct? If you don't have anything else you could use to try and get a display, I recommend seeing if you can RMA you're graphics card, maybe it's faulty. Also, does your GPU seem like it is turning on and staying on? Like do the fans spin and stuff like that? I just had an epiphany! I think it's possibly your power supply. 500w is about the minimum recommended for a 970 and maybe it's just too low, that 8350 does pull more power after all. Also I wouldn't use a PSU at 95%-100% all the time, too much...

Make sure to put the GPU in the closest PCI 16x slot to the CPU. Also is the computer actually booting up? I know this is kind of a stupid question but, are you sure you have it connected to the HDMI port on the GPU, NOT THE MOTHERBOARD. Finally if none of that works try disconnecting the GPU altogether and just plugging it into the motherboard display.

I've done all of that, and yes the computer is booting up. I was thinking maybe installing the drivers using the MOBOS integrated graphics?
