Will my PSU support 125W; which CPU should I get?

I am thinking of upgrading my AMD Athlon II X2-250 to either the FX-6300, FX-8320, or FX-8350. I have a MAX $150 budget and use my PC for light video editing, graphic design (adobe cc), and gaming. I am particularly looking forward to Skyrim: Special Edition next week, but currently get low frames in most games, which I'm assuming is my CPU. My first question is:

which CPU should I go for?
1. FX-6300 and upgrade the RAM to 2x4GB G-Skill Ripjaws
2. FX-8350
3. Or go all the way with the FX-8320

and my second question is:

will my PSU provide enough power to support 125W?

Here are my specs:
Windows 10 64-bit
AMD Athlon II X2 250
4GB Dual-Channel DDR3 1333MHz
ASUSTeK 970 PRO GAMING/AURA
MSI R7 370 4GB
Thermaltake TR2 500W
running the OS from a 60GB OCZ-Agility 2 SSD and the games from a 1TB seagate st3100

Hey,

Your PSU should be enough but I don't really trust it. And IMO first option is quite good if you have only 4gb of ram actually.
You can also try some PSU Calculators online.

Cheers.

PSU is pretty bad, it might not keep up. But... i wouldn't replace it until i saw problems.

You could upgrade to an FX CPU and see a pretty decent improvement.

You could probably find a used AM3+ CPU online for cheap cheap.

Even a phenom ii x4 955 would blow your athalon out of the water.

Thanks! Would you recommend a RAM frequency or does it not make much of a difference?

Get the same as your existing 4GB Stick.

I have 2x2GB 1333MHz Kingston sticks; would it be better to add 2 more or replace them with 2x4?
