How to protect i7 4790k

So I just bought a used i7 4790k
But he just gave me the CPU itself
I have it right now sitting on my desk. I am building my pc part by part and I need help on what to do with it. Where to put it cover it with something or place it in a cold area a box etc

Just the chip, any suggestions?
Plastic zip baggy, will it damage it? I don't want it breaking! I'll buy my motherboard later and add the CPU and RAM and just leave it hanging there.

just put it into a safe place zippy bag will do, just make sure you dont bend the pins and let dust near it

ok, first always set it on the flatpart, never set it ont he pins, second, put it on somthing that cant condust electricity, like glass, and try to keep it out of any humidity, so dont put it by fans, air conditioners, heaters, etc

Ziplock bags can create static so that's something you want to avoid. A box would do better.

a glass bowl with a lid would work quite well!

glass woulb be better, but in a pinch plastic will work, just try not to move it around alot and make sure nothing touches the container, and again, keep away from humidity ^-^
