A while back my computer was dead after a power surge due to a crappy space heater. Living with family and their outlets are terrible. I took it apart disconnected the motherboard from power and turned back on. Briefly a screen came up wanting me to change the time on computer then it flashed off never to turn on again. Nothing is wrong with PSU, replaced BIOS, power cycled, no fans nothing at all. I found a mother board online but wanted to exhaust all options before spending money I really don't have.
Will a faulty motherboard cause no fan no power? I'm not a computer genius but I know the basics. This is practically a brand new computer, new battery, new hard drive and really want to get it working. It's a dell XPS 502L
