So I've recently done this new build with pretty decent components.. got 8GB ddr4 ram as well as a water cooler on the cpu so I'd be expecting to run games on pretty high settings.
But when I play Battlefield 1 on High settings it's stuttering now and again and sometimes it'll just freeze for 5 seconds.
I notice that my CPU and RAM are both nearly at 100% when playing so I'm guessing this is where the issue lies but it could be my graphics card?? All I've really got upon in the background is google chrome so the ram and cpu stats are surprising.
I appreciate it could be a number of things but is there something obvious (i.e. the ram or cpu)?

Solution
your problem is your CPU, BF1 is highly CPU intensive, the 6600K is the minimum for BF1 on the blue team, Overclocking your CPU might help here a little bit but you should only overclock your CPU if you have a good name brand power supply and a Z170 motherboard with a good VRM configuration.

Only other solutions would be to tone down the settings or buy an i7, but given the 6600k is still a very good CPU I wouldn't recommend that

RAM and CPU are not keeping up. Lower the settings until you get around 90% CPU usage avg. Its crazy how demanding these new games are, and even crazier a setup like that is already out of date considering the prices they charge, but it is true.
