GTX 1080 questions!

So I've been heavily considering buying the 1080 being that Cyber Monday is coming up, but there's a few things I want to know before buying.

I currently have a Z97 motherboard. Would that be compatible with the 1080?

I have a i5 devils canyon quad core with 3.5 clock speed. Would that be a good processor to run with the 1080?

I also have been thinking about buying 3 monitors but I'm not familiar with the ports on the back of the 1080. Could I mount 3 monitors without having to SLI the card?

I appreciate any recommendations and everyone's help! Thanks in advance!

1. Yes that motherboard is perfectly compatible with the GTX 1080

2. Yes that processor is fine regardless of whether it's the K variant or not. You'll get a little more performance out of a 4690k than a 4690 though.

3. You can easily do 3 monitors on a single card, but it will be much easier if all 3 support displayport than if they only take HDMI or DVI.

most cards only have a single hdmi and then 3 display ports. however, the asus cards have 2 hdmi and 2 display ports if that makes any difference to you. if you don't have the monitors yet, then any card is fine so long as you get ones with display port connections so you can connect them all. a 1080 actually supports 4 monitors so no issue there other than proper connections.

and as chemma already answered, the cpu and mobo is not problem at all for the 1080. will pair nicely.
