How do I recalibrate my thermal sensors on my CPU and motherboard

So I did a dangerous thing with my motherboard and CPU. I started the machine with the motherboard out of the case and the CPU cooler OFF. I took my laser thermal sensor and measured the temperature of the CPU at idle and it was about 10-15 degrees C below what was being reported by the machine. I also put my finger on it after wiping off the thermal paste and it was not hot in the least. After some more testing and stress testing I have concluded that the temperature sensors are faulty.

I've updated the BIOS, and nothing changed. The CPU was from Amazon and the GPU was from Best Buy. I found the computer in my apartment building's recycling room.

How do I go about recalibrating those on the motherboard and those on the CPU? Google didn't have much to offer.

Alright. That makes sense, but when it's not even hot to the touch when something less than a centimetre away is reportedly running at 80 degrees C...It still seems fishy to me. Speedfan also reports that the internal sensor Temp 1 at $3E8 is at 86 C, and the ambient temperature is like 20 C...I know that at least one sensor is whacky because it's reporting NEGATIVE 56 C. Heck even Antarctica doesn't get that cold.

This is an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 LGA775 processor on a Dell Inspiron 545.

Something fishy is that while playing Skyrim or Fallout 4 or even Twilight Princess with Dolphin Emulator, the CPU stays cooler than normal (around 50 to 60C). However, when rendering with Windows Movie Maker, it spikes to 75-80C. That's why I investigated to begin with. Right now it's reportedly idling at 45C.
