I decided to do a cleanup of my storeroom and i found this super old computer and monitor that i thought i could maybe try to sell for cheap. I plugged a DVI cable from the Graphics Card (NX8800GT) to the monitor (Syncmaster 226BW from samsung) but i only saw a blinking square at the top left corner switching between (Digital) and (Analog). Shortly after it would say Check Signal Cable. I tried unplugging the DVI cable and plugging in back in but to no avail. Any answers?

Something that's been sitting for years (which I assume this has) can have no end of potential issues.

It could be something as simple as a loose cable.

Equally as possible though as blown/leaking caps on the motherboard, a failed PSU etc - all some of the first things that come to mind.
Dust, water damage, overheating (solidified thermal paste on CPU/GPU) are all possibilities too.

Answers....impossible to say for sure.
If I had it infront of me, I'd go for a full teardown, cleaning & visual inspection - Then reassembly. Probably easier (all things considered) that trying to identify the problem outright.

All the fans on the components are working when i turn them on, what are leaking caps on the motherboard? If literally, my system is completely dry with no signs of moisture when i turn it on so i have a high suspicion on the cable
