Hi, In my home my router is downstairs and my PC is upstairs and i'm wondering if a TP-LINK will work for me. The outlets from the room the router is in and my room are on different power circuits, so i'm wondering if it will work in this regard. Also the only available outlet near my desk is broken, so I'm wondering if it would make a huge difference if i were to use one in a 4 gang. Help is greatly appriciated

Hello,
What you're referring to would be powerline adaptors. They do usually work across power circuits (mine do perfectly fine across about 4 of them) and as long as it is plugged directly into a wall socket (not an extension lead and definitely not into a surge protector/surge protected extension lead) it should work...

Hello,
What you're referring to would be powerline adaptors. They do usually work across power circuits (mine do perfectly fine across about 4 of them) and as long as it is plugged directly into a wall socket (not an extension lead and definitely not into a surge protector/surge protected extension lead) it should work fine. Of course, running a physical cable will offer the best performance but powerline is pretty much as close as you can get. Long and short is it should work fine, just be sure to plug them directly into a wall socket.
