Hi everyone,

I'm planning on building a PC for a friend of mine and I'd like to hear your thoughts on it. The main goal is not to have the best performance you can get out of his budget, it's more about having good stuff that will run most of the games on Ultra (Not 4K, maybe 2K or 1080p), while having durable components and a clean look. We choose to go with the classic Red and Black build. Let us know what you think. Please note that our budget is $1100 CAN.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor ($264.99 @ NCIX)

Hi,

That's an interesting option you're proposing and I like that. I'll talk with him about it. maybe if he has and external hard drive, we could put only SSD and then add the HHD later. What are you proposing for the SSD then? Should we keep the same from kingston but with more space? Or should we take something like an A-Data or Samsung? We have around $100 left.

Thanks you!

Hi,

thanks you for taking the time to make a build for us. I knew from the beginning that we could have put more performances for less, but like I said, we'd like to have a cool look at the same time. I like the fact that you included a bigger SSD in the budget. The problem is that the motherboard you propose looks fine, but I don't think it should be in a build of that extent. What I mean is that I think for a budget like that we should have something that is more valuable. The Asus one as a lot of features we want (possibility of SLI configuration, ATX form factor is important) and looks amazing. But, we sure do consider your proposition.

thanks you

If you go closer to the $1166 price of your build you could put that Asus Aura back in, however that Asus B150 board does not support SLI and neither does the GTX 1060.

Went over budget for a 1070 but it's worth it
