Hello everyone !

I have an issue here and i need a help from experts ;)

I´m using 2x 4gb 2133 Mhz HyperX Savage ram´s in my computer right now on my ASUS B150 pro gaming / AURA.

My question is if I buy same 8gb kit and stick it into my motherboard is my ram going to be 16 gb capacity without any issues ? (i have 4 ram slots on board)

I also have a question if this mother board is good enough for msi gtx 1060. (im using core i5 6500 and evga supernova 750W b2 PSU and MSI gtx 960 right now)

Thank you for your further responses guys :)

Hello ROMESKO99,

1) There is about a 50/50 chance that mixing in a new set of RAM will work, even if you match your current modules exactly. RAM sold in packs are specifically tested together at the factory to work as a set, modules from seperate packs are not.

The BEST thing to do would be to buy a new pair of 8GB modules from the same pack. Not only would you be sure that the modules will work together, but only having two modules installed will be easier on the CPU and memory controller.

2) Absolutely yes, the ASUS B150 is more than capable of handling any card in the GTX 1000 line.

Edit: If you're interested in reading more about why mixing RAM isn't recommended here is a great article on the subject: "The Most Common DDR DRAM Myths Debunked". Sections 1 & 6 are of particular relevance.
