Frame drops in games

I'm trying to play games at 1080p with my gtx 1070 fe and my i5 4460, and I'm getting massive frame drops, especially in battlefield 1, i go as low as 18 fps with a gtx 1070, I don't know what is happening and i used evga precision x to see and the gpu usage didn't even go to 100%, the max was 79% i don't know if it is the cpu but i just want to game comfortably. please help

the i5-4460 is getting a bit slow for newer demanding titles...it's clockspeed ain't really high and the CPU does not have hyper-threading...it's still great for most games in general but in some games like BF1 it is indeed starting to fall a bit short...i fear you'd need a cpu upgrade soon.

Yea I was thinkimg on upgrading too, but I dont know what to upgrade to, I was thinking of buying the 6700k, but I've seen that there have been leaks for the new intel i7 7700k and im aware I'll need a new motherboard and ram but I dont know if I should wait or purchase the 6700k now.
