what is the best scenario:

-8 sticks of 4gb ram, although there is no available set of 8x4gb here, so i'll have to buy 2 purchases of 4x4gb rams of same brand and specs

-4 sticks of 8gb ram. (allowance for future upgrade for the rest 4 slots)

-2 sticks of 16gb ram - is this still quad-channel?

is it better to completely fill up the 8 slots of ram? My OCD is kicking in.lol

also, is it okay to mix 4x4gb and 4x8gb ram on these 8 slots?

i only want 32gb ram total because i dont think i'll be needing more although my PC is used mainly for 3d design and modelling, ultra rendering and complex Photoshops. Or do i need more than 32gb for these?

Solution
If you have a Haswell-E chip use 8GB sticks for whatever capacity you're after, if you have a Broadwell-E chip use 16GB sticks. That way you can upgrade to the max supported RAM without throwing out old sticks.
