Hello

Guys I'm building a budget gaming pc I got the i5 lga 1151 6500 I'm getting a new pair of G.skill memories of 16 gbs and 3200mhz, so here is my question, it's this memory frequency compatible with the i5? Or do I have to get a lower speed memory?

Solution
You'll only be able to get speeds higher than 2133MHz with Z170 boards (only Z-series supports XMP). I'd also recommend not going past 3000MHz because after that the RAM may require you to tweak CPU memory controller voltage to make it stable, which you cannot do on locked chips.
