Will there be a bottleneck if I upgrade my gpu?

Hi guys, I'm just curious if you geniuses could explain to me if there will be a bottleneck in my system and is it honestly worth selling the whole system and purchasing a new one.

Current specs.

CPU - i5 3570k @ an automatic overclock with msi's OC Genie "don't laugh at me" 4.2ghz.
GPU - MSI LIGHTNING GTX 770
RAM - CORSAIR VENGEANCE 1333MHZ-1600MHZ "not sure if its been overclocked also, I can get that information if needed" 8GB.
PSU - evga NEX750G "had to replace my corsair gs800 because it was the culprit of random fps dropping and sound distortion"
MOBO - MSI Z77A-GD80
SSD - SAMSUNG 840 EVO 120GB
HDD - WESTERN DIGITAL BLACK 500GB.
CPU COOLER - HYPER 212 EVO.

I think I wrote everything needed, anyway It is to my belief the only thing letting the computer down is the gpu, that I want to replace with a gtx 1070. Would this be unwise?

I just bought a gtx 980ti for 380 euro, or 414 dollars, 7 weeks old still under warranty, I think that is a decent price, especially considering how much they cost in ireland and the uk vs america. Its the msi gaming 6g model.

nope, a 1070 will be an amazing upgrade, you could even run a 1080 on the 3570k, and i wont laugh at you for using oc genie, i used it myself for a while :D, but if you get a better cooler then manual overclock will be better, but you cant go wrong with a 1070!

be you ram frequency go with 1600 the amount of ram the more the better go with the 1070 or wait for a few more months of bug fixes then buy 1 with xmas sales the 770 is ok for its age still gives the new gen cards a run for their $

GTX 770 is a powerful card still to this date.

Getting a 1070 won't bottleneck your CPU at all, even if it's at stock speed.
I would suggest upgrading to 16GB ram if you're getting a 1070 however, it is not needed as many games only recommends 8GB but some games do need more than 8GB, mostly if you want to multitask such as watching a stream while playing (If you have 2 monitors).

The 1070 would be an excellent upgrade for you.

GTX 770 is not really aging well- after release at $399 it was a competitor to R9 280X, and now it barely competes with R7 270X (release price- $199 back then). https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_1080/26.html

Upgrade to GTX1070 would be great, CPU speed with overclock is more than fine (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DxGge0tR4IM), and I also agree with the suggestion to get 16GB, and faster memory- it helps in a lot of games.

Any idea what I should be doing when overclocking this cpu manually? I'm thinking maybe just setting a multiplier of x44 to get 4.4ghz and setting a voltage that seems reasonable for the purpose.
