HP external drive not working on new build

Hey guys

I'm having an issue with my external drive..it works plugged into my crappy little Asia notebook but when I connect it to my new build I get the drive come up but clicking it said invalid parameters or something and can't access any data..any clues as to what's going on??

Try using a dual head power supply or connect the drive to an external power supply if it has one. Try another port also. Test with another system aside from your laptop that it already works with.

Yeh it works with my laptop I only have one desktop PC to try it on though...have tried various ports on the PC Aus very strange

If the drive works in another system but is clicking in another, that seems like a power issue. See if you can get another drive to test or find one of the dual connection USB cables to try.
