So I have an ASUS ROG 502VT and its CPU temperatures reach upto 90C while playing games like GTA 5 which is getting me worried. Any diagnostics?

Na. Intel built the CPUs, and so they know how hot is safe. Throttle temperature is set at 100c, and emergency shutdown is at 130c.

Be aware that you can't use your intuition with temperatures on modern silicon, and that you can't compare the readings from new and old CPUs. An Athlon XP that read "40c" might well be hotter than your "90c" Core i7, because the temperature sensors are in different places and reading different things. Trust the manufacturer.
If it's not throttling, I'd leave it alone. Intel CPUs don't throttle until 100c and most laptop manufacturers design their cooling systems to keep chips ~90c under load, which is not unsafe and will not measurably impact the life of your CPU. It will likely long outlast the rest of the laptop, and end up on eBay someday.

Is it shutting down or throttling? If not I doubt it's overheating as laptops are designed to run quite warm. If your careful you could replace the thermal paste on the CPU as it should help lower the temp a few degrees but you will want to research that first and make sure your doing it right, I would use MX4 as its non-conductive and a good price. Make sure you check with ASUS to ensure that changing the thermal paste doesn't void the warranty. Also a laptop cooling pad would help keeps the temps down a bit.
