ok so to begin with i bought a 1060 without knowing about bottlenecking or whatever (i know stupid right) and i think i need to upgrade my cpu as i only have a AMD FX 4300 quad core with doesn't seem to be enough. Now, i really dont want to buy a new motherboard as i dont trust myself taking everything apart and stuff (remember im a complete noob) so i want wondering what cpu may fit with my motherboard and work with my 1060 if there is any
Motherboard: N68-GS4 FX (i know its shit)

I can run all the other games i play apart from BF1 which is playable online at like 50fps medium but i dont know if its worth upgrading just for one game

So you want to increase the graphics settings on bf1, and have 60fps, but to get a high frame rate you need to decrease the graphics settings? If that is so then you will need to upgrade your gpu.

Well ive not tried playing on a higher settings really i just stuck to medium because it was only at like 50fps already, im going to try and bump up the settings now

for the record you cant upgrade your cpu higher then it is your stuck at fx 4300 ( asrock hasnt updated the boards cpu socket in 2 years the update 1.30 last year 2015 was just lan improvements that being said a fx 4300 isnt overly bad if you overclock it with a decent cooler

for referance if you want to increase textures on games disable shadows and lower draw distance will have less impact on frames

also noted if your frames are to low disable v sync as this will impact your frames as its trying to adjust to the monitor to prevent tearing but if your not hitting 60 frames anyway then it makes it worse

ethan can not upgrade to a 6000 or 8000 series cpu the bios will not allow it do some research on the board first

http://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/N68-GS4%20FX/?cat=CPU

even if it did work it may damage the board or screw up the bios

I believe that the cpu list its outdated. It wouldn't qualify as an amd3 plus board if it couldn't supprt all the 125w cpus. On the overview page it says up to 8 core support, and since none of the cpus on the cpu supported list are 8 cores I can only assume they refer to the fx 8k series

again you really need to do research

Opteron 3200 comes in flavours of 4 to 8 cores and are am3 plus cpus

also asrock has a nasty habit of cutting there motherboards down to 95w max on most of there boards

http://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/N68-GS4%20FX/?cat=Specifications

also asrock has a bad habit of not supporting boards of the 68 series

but happy with the 96 series to support higher 95w cpus
http://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/960GM-VGS3%20FX/?cat=CPU

its the reason i dont buy there boards period

it happens your best bet is with intel are you planning to overclock ? the cpu if your not then that in itself will make the price less and you uk or usa based ethan ?

UK and no im not planning on overclocking

fx 4300 will be the bottleneck

however it depends on how much money your wanting to put into this build cause this is gonna cost alot to fix it can be dropped cost wise by going to haswell
instead of broadwell as you can use the existing ram in your old system
