Hello all,

I have recently bought a HP-15bg002au and I hope to upgrade the RAM. The laptop has a 4gb ram and I want to upgrade it to 8gb.
The RAM module installed in my laptop is this one,

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00AWVKA48/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3LKWIQ3PBTNT2

And the one I want to load is this one,

https://www.amazon.in/gp/aw/d/B016GKBY4S/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2JY2P5URJ5MSF#

Will the new one work fine? I really want to improve my APU performance to do work on Photoshop and play a few random games. If the above RAM doesn't work, please suggest what I should do.

Cheers!

Solution
The first one you showed would be a better match since they are both Hynix modules. This one should work, but you never know for sure until you try it.
It should work, though sometimes mixing different brands of ram causes problems. Some rams have the same specifications but just don't work together. Because of this it is always best to get identical ram, so get one of the same, or get two new ram sticks.

Should you decide to buy 2 new sticks of ram, you can get a considerable speed boost by buying higher speed ram, 1866 or higher. The APU will perform much better because of the higher speed ram which is used as video ram.

I am on a tight budget now, so I won't be getting two new modules. As for manufacturer, bot are from Skhynix and looks pretty much same to me.
