Hi,

I have a Dell Studio XPS 435T with i7 920 @ 2,67GHz CPU, 12GB DDR3 of RAM, 4x 110GB SSDs. I'm looking to upgrade the display adapter from a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 so that I can play some of the newer games - Civ VI for example.

I'm considering a GTX 750 TI 2GB. Are there any problems with swapping in this card re: power supply, bottleneck, etc?
I could also consider the GTX 950 2GB (based on http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gpu-hierarchy,4388.html)
Also, is a graphics card's memory expandable in general or fixed?

Also, would someone mind either telling me what motherboard came stock with this system or a tool I can use to find out or where to find the info by looking at it?

Note: I don't play the hyper-intensive games as they overwhelm my visuals and I get nauseous. :p Also, cost is a factor in my decision.

Thx!

Dell uses Foxconn, MiTAC and Pegatron for their board manufactures. The model number should be on the board somewhere.
The GTX 950 is by far the better choice of those three. But there are better if your budget allows.
Does that PC have the Dell 475W PSU?

No, you can't increase memory on a gfx card.

Thank you both very much. I appreciate your time and expertise.

Here's a partial photo of my motherboard: https://goo.gl/6fTFdd
The PSU is the stock one that came with the Dell; the one so overly sensitive to the power source's sine wave that I can't use a standard home-class backup power supply.
The only labelling I can find on the PSU is this: https://goo.gl/6wCWq6
Can you id the wattage?

My main question is for the video card upgrade mentioned above. Again, I'm not a heavy gamer, just having to upgrade because Civ VI won't work on my GTX 260.

Thanks.

All my Dells have the PSU's nameplate clearly exposed on the side opened when the cover is removed. Odd...
Either way, I doubt a Dell Studio XPS 435T with a i7 920 would come with a PSU to small to handle the GTX 750 Ti or 950. Or the soon-to-be-released GTX 1050 Ti. It also runs off of PCIe slot power alone.
