Yes, this has been asked before. Yes, I know it's not safe.

I bought a FX-6350 and the N68-GS4 FX motherboard. I open up the "guide" from the MB box and the first thing I read is that it's made for 95W processor. <removed>... Can I underclock & undervolt the FX-6350 to 3.5GHz (stock FX-6300)? I might or might not be able to ask to replace with the FX-6300, but don't know since I'm paying monthly. That's why I'm asking the question above.

Theres no guarantee the BIOS will even recognize the processor.
You can undervolt it and whatnot, however the 6300, which is indeed a 95w processor, is still not supported by the board.

It's never a good idea generally to put a CPU on a board that it does not support. Reason being of course its handling the watts/TDP correctly and then again your just asking for problems. You can do it but again there's no guarantee how long this will work maybe a week maybe a year(s) but your just taking a risk. I would just return the board or exchange for a different cpu. You said your paying monthly? What do you mean?

I believe it's called installment. I pay like 10 months a fraction of the total price.

Oh so you bought the parts on a credit program(i'm just assuming). Well regardless even if it's a credit program you shouldn't have issues returning an item that's incorrect. Could easily find this out by contacting the installment service and asking. Also returning the part to the place you purchased it, I would again contact them to see what their policy is too.
