This just started happening yesterday. This laptop I'm using (An Acer Aspire E15 laptop with Windows 8.1) has never had an issue like this before. I keep getting advertisements like on the title, & the audio doesn't play back. The driver's still fine though.

Scan for malware/viruses. Use a tool like Malwarebytes. Install, update, and perform a full scan. Remove all identified threats.

I have already tried that. It hasn't found any threats though. I'll go take a look in AdwCleaner then.

Check your add-ons in your browser or check for recently installed programs that you don't recognize. Sometimes they are not flagged as malware or adware, but do feed your browser ads.

I've checked programs and features. Nothing suspicious. I've checked my extensions. Nothing suspicious. I've even done an adwcleaner scan. Nothing too suspicious there either. I may have to wipe this drive clean & reinstall Windows.

Did you run your malware scans (and anti-virus) while in Safe Mode? If not, try doing so.
