Hi guys,

Just wondering if my proposed drive set-up is optimal on a new build. I'll be using After Effects, Photoshop, Cinema 4d.

I was thinking:

M.2. Samsung PM961 256GB for OS/Programs (should I bump to 512?)
1TB SSD (not yet found) for Project Files OR 2x1tb HDD in RAID0? Speed difference?

and

2x120GB Samsung 750s in RAID 0 for Media Cache and Exports
OR
1x 256GB 850 EVO for Media Cache and Exports.

Is RAID0 going to be faster for the media cache or should I not bother, just have 1 drive for simplicity.

Solution
The RAID 0 volume will read as a single 240GB drive (well not exactly 240GB because those 120GB drives aren't exactly 120GB). Sequential reads and writes can see anywhere from a 50% boost to an actual doubling when using a 2-SSD RAID 0.

yep, just scratch, nothing important! Is it worth the slightly higher cost to go for the two 120s then?

It's only £30 more.

Also will RAID0 read as 240gb or still 120gb?
