Horrible lag spikes in certain games

First off i'm sorry if this is in the wrong spot, please inform me if I should move this somewhere else.
So I get terrible fps spikes which I can provide some video of it if needed but only on certain games.
Specs : Gtx 970
i7 4770 3.4ghz
8gb ram
And I have an HDD.
A lot of people have told me I should get an SSD but I decided to come here first before I go out buying anything.

A SSD will not help with your fps, SSD will help a game boot up faster, but after that the game play is all in the CPU, gpu and ram. what can you give more info on what games you are having a problem with, and post your full system specs

Some games are DayZ, Battlefield 1, and Gta V that I have these on for sure.
Where can I find my full system specs?
My fps can be very high but the lag spikes is what ruin it, and it seems like they are caused from rendering.
For example if I start driving fast in GTA V the lag spikes kick in and it seems it is struggling to render in the map
