Recently bought an Arris SB6190 to replace my Motorola SB6120. However, my speeds dropped from 12MB/s to 4MB/s, and this is after the modem updated the firmware and everything.

Reading the reviews of the SB6190 is making me think I got a bad one, but wouldn't it just not work? Why would it be 3 times slower?

2 important lights on your modem , middle ones, are they Blue in colour (means DCOS 3 is enable and got high speed going) ?

you could always go to the configuration of the cable modem reset to factory default (see manual link above on page 16), when done power down for 2 mins and plug it back in, and give it 10 mins time to reestablish protocol with cox .
