A question about physical PC discs and AAA games

My internet isn't really that great and downloading a new AAA game will take about 2 days to complete, obviously this is kind of annoying and off putting when I want to play something different. The last AAA game I bought was "Fallout 4" and I decided to get the disk version so I wouldn't have to download 40+ gigs or however big it is but unfortunately the disk only installed about 5 gigs and the rest was downloaded through Steam. Is it like this now for most new physical game releases? like I said I haven't bought many new AAA physical copies recently so I don't know if all are like this but I also think it was the same story with "Shadow Of Mordor".

Yes, this is the way it is.
Obviously, 50GB of game content won't fit on a single DVD.

The rest of it has to come from online somewhere.

Why did I not think about the dvd capacity... now I feel really stupid.
