I noticed that when I'm in a game and when these things happen my ram and cpu usage is super high and then just kind of drops and goes back up again

Solution
Looking around a bit more also indicated that BF4 might have some memory leak problems - are you running the latest patches? If you are, it could just indicate a crappy game. Some people were hitting 96-98% usage on 16GB systems. As for BF1 - it apparently might have the same problem. Others are finding 90%+ RAM usage and CPU spikes when that hits.

Get more RAM. I've seen some issues where BF is using quite a bit of RAM. One guy had 16gb and BF1 was using 9GB of it. Apparently it likes to load as much as it can in RAM when it's running to avoid hitting the disk (which is a lot slower).

Case: Corsair Air 540 Processor: i7 4790k OC'd to 4.6GHz CPU Cooler:
H100i GTX Motherboard: MSI Z97 GAMING 5 Power Supply: Corsair CX Series 750W
Modular 80+ Bronze Ram: 8 GB Graphics: EVGA 980ti Hybrid OC'd to 1.5GHz
Solid State Drive: PNY CS2111 480GB Hardrive: Western Digital 1TB SATA III
7200RPM

My cpu doesn't go above 60 in games and the hottest my gpu has gotten is 50 and its not the oc's either took both of them off and the problem persisted
