Is there any conceivable benefit to upgrading to more ram at this point? I just bought a 1060 and am blown away with its performance, hours of dragon age inquisition at 4k resolution maxed graphic settings and the card only reached 46C. I also noticed it only utilized 4.4gb vram of my 6gb. My current system has 8gb of ddr3. Would there be any benefit to getting another 8gb at this point? I'm running an old fx6300, which I know will technically bottle neck the card, but I've been able to play everything I've thrown at it without a fps dip. Bf1 all ultra setting in 1440p = 40-60fps. I was going to upgrade to Skylake i5 toward the end of the year. So my question is whether increasing my current ddr3 from 8gb to 16gb would make any difference. If it won't make any real difference I'm better off waiting since I'll need to buy ddr4 for 1151. So any mumbo about future proofing isn't a concern in this case.

Solution
At the moment no. Within the near future 16GB will become the new norm for gaming rigs, but not right now. Upgrade to 16GB DDR4 when you get your i5 and new motherboard.
