Hi,

Im new to the community but would really love some insights from you guys. I stay in India and would like to build a mid range budget gaming pc. I didnt want to go towards the higher tier as Dota 2 and WOW as my stable games. I just wanted a pc which can go ultra on both of this games at 1080p without any problem. (also i multibox in wow, would this build be a problem if i multibox lets say 6 accounts at lower settings?).

Thanking you in advance.

Moniter: Dell S2216H 21.5" Monitor
CPU: Intel Core i3-6100 3M 3.7 GHz
Motherboard: MSI H110I Pro LGA 1151
Memory: HyperX FURY 8GB 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2133
Video Card: MSI GEFORCE GTX 1060 3GT OC 3GB GRAPHIC CARD or GALAX GeForce® GTX 1060 3GB (will add it to the build maybe 1-2 months from now)
Case: Circle Gaming Cabinet CC 820
Power Supply: Frontech JIL-2423 600W PSU (will change it later on)
Storage: I have an old kingston 240 gb Seagate SSD and a 1TB 5400 Seagate barracuda from an older pc.

Basically this build is below Rs. 50000 which i was targeting.

I would recommend getting an ATX motherboard such as the 'MSI B150 Gaming M3' which is showing as around the same price as the H110's that you suggested. There would be no point in getting a MATX motherboard if your case can fit a full sized ATX board.

the only changes i would make are:

i3 6100 to an i5 6500 and the power supply to an EVGA Supernova 600w which will be an extra £156 ($189).
By doing this you will improve the performance significantly and avoid bottlenecking your 1060.
Make sue you dont buy that PSU at all, it is a cheap brand one which is not reliable, you should NEVER cheap out on the PSU.

@sammchisnall. Thank you for your views. Ill take your advise on the PSU but is the upgrade to an i5 really neccesary? what would be the approx. difference in performance if you dont mind.

It is not necessary as the i3 probably wont bottleneck the 1060 but in terms of performance the i5 will beat the i3 in most situations due to it being a quad core.

Basically if you dont plan on doing intense gaming on high+ settings then the i3 will be fine for you. But if you plan on gaming on Very High/Ultra you will need the i5. It all comes down to budget and demand at the end of the day.

Ill consider buying the i5 in that case. Just another question will there be any major difference between MSI H110I Pro LGA and MSI H110M Pro? As The H110i seems to be unavailable here in india and is there any major difference between the 2 gfx cards from Galax and Msi?

Update: also is it worth going all the way and upgrading to i5-6600k? or will that be alil bit on the overkill side as the games i limit to are just dota 2, lol and wow. Your views will be greatly appreciated again. I do hope this build will last for atleast 2-3 years.

What do you think about AMD RX 480 instead of nvidia 1060 (6gb varient)? since ill be adding it after a month or 2 I might be able to shell out a bit more in my budget and on that note is there an amd processor equivalent which performs better with inbuilt gfx (for that period) around the budget of an i3-6100?

Sorry for racking you brain and thank you in advance.

The 6600k would be the ideal choice if you have the cash, it would last you easily over 2 years as the nearly 3 year old i5 4690k is still an extremely good gaming CPU.

In terms of the Motherboard is there a particular reason you're getting a MATX motherboard? how big is the case you'll be building in?

The Galax GTX 1060 EXOC would be the best option out of the two as it has higher clock speeds on both core and memory. The MSI one will still be a very good card though. The 8GB RX480 would be better than the 1060 if you can afford it but the 1060 will easily run all the games that you mentioned so there isn't really any need for the RX480.

I would completely avoid AMD CPU's at the moment as they have much lower performance per core (extremely slow compared to rival intel chips). Intel chips are still shipped with integrated graphics onboard that can run things such as CS:GO at a steady frame rate with a few lowered settings so they can hold their own. You could alternatively buy a cheaper GTX 750 (or something of a similar spec) as a temporary stand in for your GTX 1060. That would be smarter than buying an amd chip which would require you buying an AMD socket motherboard too.

Hmmm that's some legit points. Thank you.

I might shell out a few more bucks and go for the 6600k instead. To be totally honest i have no idea on what motherboard to get, the msi h110m pro was a budget friendly option.

according to the website the case which i was opting for is compatible for ATX, Micro ATX, Mini-ITX with the gfx card lenth as 310mm. The dimentions of the case are 413mm x 185mm x 430mm.
