First let me say, "This is the best forum site on the face of the planet!" Thank you... moving on:
So I know Windows XP only recognizes up to 3.5 GBs of RAM, what I don't understand is that I installed 2 extra GBs of RAM into my Dell Precision 390 just for fun (I had two 1 GB cards laying around the house), and now XP systems menu says I only have 3.0 GB? My BIOS reads 6 GBs ( 2 x 2GB chips and 2 x 1GB chips), so did I actually lose RAM by adding more? I just recently installed a Radeon HD 7770 GPU into my Dell XP (I use it for older games), so could the 7770 be stealing RAM... and if so that's a good thing, right? I just want to know why System menu shows a drop of .5 RAM? Why wouldn't it just stay the same at 3.5?
