generally Asus > MSI
but it depends on your build.
a H170 board won't let you overclock. so if you got an overclockable CPU you can only overclock it on a Z170 board.
also Z170 boards support higher clocked RAM and SLI which the H170 doesn't.
however if you were to need a Z170 board I'd still prefer Asus & Gigabyte over MSI

As far as gaming they will perform the same when configured with the same hardware(no SLI or overclocking). The advantages the z170 has is overclocking and SLI support.

Tbh I don't know how over clocking works lol. I'm new to the PC life. So assuming I don't overclock then Asus would fit me better?
