I'm by no means an expert at computers. I would say a newb/novice. I know enough to get myself into trouble, but not enough trouble that's not reversible. If that makes sense. So, my current build:

■ NZXT Source 220 (With side window) case with 3 120mm fans 2 front, 1 rear
■ MSI 760GMA-P34(FX) motherboard Micro atx
■ AMD FX-6350 non-water cooled
■ NVIDIA Geforce GTX-950
■ 500GB HDD
■ 16GB DDR3 (2x 8GB sticks) brand unknown at this time.
■ I believe a 450watt PSU. Again, brand unknown at this time. (non modular that looks atrocious)

I currently have no issues with the set-up, but I feel when you're comfortable, that's when you get into trouble. I don't do "EXTREME GAMING". Just a casual gamer that plays a few hours a couple nights a week and for extended stretches on a weekend night. (I have a 1yr old). I bought my rig cheap knowing it didn't have "the best" of anything and I don't feel like I need "the best", but I would like to upgrade some things and not have to worry about needing to again for about a year or more perhaps. I have visited my local PC hardware store Computer Bytes here in San Angelo, TX 76904. Not much on their website, but I feel the guy I talked to knows his stuff. I'll be doing my business there and not online.

I'm big into Battlefield and Call of Duty, but mainly BF4 and BF1 with the new COD to come soon. Before I pre-ordered BF1, I looked at the system requirements and I noticed my system is on the minimum or in-between for a couple factors. I was advised by the sales rep/tech employee at Computer Bytes to first upgrade the GPU and to get a SSD and that my FX-6350 is ok (even though it falls in the minimum for what BF1 requires) I have no brand loyalty as my only experience is with my current rig, but I LOVE my NVIDIA Experience and being able to record gameplay. Not that I'll be doing any heavy video editing. I have thought about the switch to Intel and the new Z170 chipset motherboard. Then I'd need to upgrade to DDR4.

Budget Range: around $1000

System Usage from Most to Least Important: College courses (wife), Gaming (me), brousing internet and streaming movies

Are you buying a monitor: No, but my current set-up is with a 32" Vizio HDTV 120hz TV.

Do you need to buy OS: No (windows 10 store product key in BIOS), if keeping MB

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: None, will do local business (Not Best Buy)

Location: San Angelo, Texas 76904

Parts Preferences: not really. I like NVIDIA and if I upgrade my MB it'll be swapped for Intel

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: I might do 4k in the future, but not a must currently.

I guess I should mention my budget isn't $1000 total and that's it. Just currently I have that and will continue to set aside funds for the PC as I go at a usual rate of about $100 a week. So, in order of importance, what should be the list of things to upgrade.

GPU, SSD, MB with CPU and RAM
GPU, SSD, maybe FX-8350, RAM
Etc...

Well, just got an Email from that store owner and since no one here chimed in with constructive opinion, I'm going his route.

MSI GTX1070 and a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD. I'l store the OS and my most played games on the SSD and the HDD will receive any seldom played games, music, pictures, and videos I have. I will also need to upgrade my PSU as my current unit only supplies 400watts.

I'll either switch to a Z170 Motherboard next year with new DDR4 sticks and an i7 CPU or I might just go with the cheaper AMD 8350 and an MSI or Gigabyte 990 Motherboard for under $300 and I'll get to keep my DDR3 but get an additional 2 DIMM slots, and M.2 in about a month or two. I could just hold out as long as I can to splurge on the Z170 or whatever is new with intel CPU's when I decide to upgrade.

I guess I posted this topic for nothing.
So thanks for nothing.........
