Upgrade RAM Alienware X51 R1 help

I've been waiting to upgrade my RAM in my Alienware x51 R1 (biggest regret on buying for the last 10 years of purchases) for a while now but I finally decided to do it, however, I don't know exactly what to get.

This pretty much covers the specs http://www.dell.com/support/Article/us/en/4/SLN296867/EN

However to sum it up after upgrades, I have an I7 2600 (not a 2600k, Sandybridge I think? I'm not sure) CPU, 8GB of stock memory, Asus GTX 1060 6GB GPU, standard PSU of 330w, Standard HDD, no CD/DVD drive (it broke so disconnected it), BIOS A14 (latest available).

So only the GPU really has been upgraded from the GTX 555 OEM to the 1060 6GB.

Now I've seen posts say they have successfully upgraded to 16GB RAM with Corsair (model CMX16GX3M2A1333C9) running at 1333mhz and I've seen people say they successfully upgraded to 16GB 1600mhz DDR3 (2x Hynix 8GB PC3 12800U DDR3 1600 1600Mhz 240pin DDR3 DIMM Desktop Memory RAM0 if i'm not mistaking) and claim to run at 1600mhz as well and I've seen claims of 32GB upgrades, even though I doubt the last one (which would be great though because swap could be disabled).
Others claim that certain 1600mhz models have boosting tech that allows 1333mhz to run at 1600mhz in specific models (don't ask me which, I think it was a Corsair model).

However, Alienware states somewhere well hidden that 8 GB is the cap for Sandy Bridge models, others say its BS.

Since the Alienware forums are about as good as Alienware itself I can find no proper answer and do not get a response when asking a question (which seems to be normal there) so I figured I'd come here :).

Why upgrade to 16GB? Because 32GB is impossible.
Do I NEED 16GB, yes I do I load a lot of stuff in the background that caps my 8GB ram at nearly 7GB while using maybe 25% of the processor so a 16GB (or 32GB) would be a giant improvement.

Can anyone help me out?
How much RAM can I upgrade to and what should I buy if I upgrade it (model etc.) I want to spend tops 100-140$ (roughly 100-120 Euro) on including shipping in the EU because its just a midranged upgrade that should last me a while.
