Hello,

This is yet another 'can I play Battlefield 1' thread. Like many I was shocked by the supposed minimum requirements. So far I've been able to play any game with max settings with 60 fps at 1080P. Does anyone have any insight if my system could handle BF1 at like medium settings, 1080P and 60 FPS? Or is my cpu truly going to be a major bottleneck?

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz (not overclocked)
Geforce GTX 970 - 4GB
Mobo: Gigabyte Z97X-SLI-CF
Memory - 24 GB - dual channel setup at 1333 Mhz
SSD

I've seen some videos of people running it on this cpu but it sounds like it will eventually choke out at 100% usage?

Solution
That CPU is still really good and no you won't need to OC it to play the game in 1080p/60FPS/Ultra. My friend is playing on almost the same CPU (i5 4670k) and he can run the game easily withtout any OC.

The GTX970 is still considered a good GPU so that will max out the game without problem. Had a slightly weaker GPU (R9 290 in my system) and that maxed out the game as well, tho that was the beta back then.

And yes your RAM speed is kinda slow but luckily thats the cheapest part to replace.

Great info, thanks! I figured in this situation is best to just talk to others who have tried it on similar systems. (really didn't want to fork out $60 right now just on blind faith :) ) I guess never realized my ram speed was so bad, so good to know.
