Second maximus vii hero with dead ram slots

I just bought a Strix 1070 today and now as god clearly hates me my trusty maximus vii hero has three dead ram slots. This is the second hero with dead ram slots. I already RMA'd this board once. Now it only boots on the third ram slot. I could try to RMA but Asus would probably just repair it or send me another refurb and it would probably die in a year with more dead ram slots. My choices are slim for socket 1150 so what do you guys think.

1. Asus Z97 Pro Gamer
2. MSI Gaming 5 (hate this board)
3. Gigabyte G1 gaming (never owned a gigabyte board)
4. ASrock Fatal1ty Z97 killer

The Pro Gamer was the one I was leaning towards. It seems to be closest to the Hero but with less bells and whistles. Im using Corsair Dominator 1866. It only boots with on the third and fourth slot. The board receives power as the led's are lit up and the components all work. One of the pins look like its off centered or been moved but it did boot up. This is twice with this board on the same two DIMM slots.
