graphics: AMD r7 370
cpu: intel i76700k
motherboard:z170k

In the middle of booting up a game (the culling) my screen went black and since then hasn't recovered. I tried restarting but the monitor is still saying no signal. I even tried a different HDMI cord but no luck. All the connections are in the right place, i checked multiple times and plus the system has been working fine the last couple months.

I then proceeded to take out the graphics card and run off of the motherboard graphics, but sadly there was still no signal to the monitor. I want to say there is a problem with the graphics card because I noticed at some point the fans were not spinning, but that could be because it isn't reaching the threshold temp.

I am a bit new to all this so thank you in advance.

Solution
It could have been in number of settings in the bios that may have been optimal instead of Auto. The reset sets the mobo back to its original factory settings which is the most compatable. It may not happen again unless adjustments are made.

Hi elbert,

If you're referring to the CTRC erase area then yes. I looked into my motherboard manual and tried shorting the two prongs after disconnecting the power source. Then if that didn't work, manual said take off battery and do the same. Sadly that didn't do anything either.

The power supply is working, fans spinning and I can turn on and off. For some strange reason, it began working without the gpu. Maybe the reset worked after like the fifth time. Got the gpu back in and everything seems fine.

Happy that its all working, but I'm a bit worried that this may happen again. I still don't know what the root of this problem is, any other suggestions I should address now, or simply have to wait till happens again?

Thank you elbert for helping out.
