Suggestions For Upgrading

Hello Forum, I'm reaching out in hopes of suggestions on how to improve my PC. I just recently picked PC gaming back up, and am currently struggling with running some of the more modern games (GTA 5, Battlefield 1, Witcher, etc.) I'd like to be run these titles at high-max settings if possible. And ideally would like to keep the price of upgrading in the sub $350 CAD range. Is what I'm after possible? and if so a recommendation of parts would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, your CPU is perfectly fine for the next few years, get a 16GB kit of DDR3 RAM provided you have 64 bit windows, get a 240GB SSD for OS so it'll boot faster (you can transfer OS between drives), and get a new graphics card.

Also forgot to mention I added additional memory way back in the day...So 8gb in total currently.

If you want to max stuff out go for a 1060 3GB, they go for $270 for the Windforce OC.
Good that you got another kit of RAM, 8GB should get you by, although 16 is obviously optimal.

i would still increace your ram to 16GB especially if you get an SSD drive. with this much ram you can turn off the windows paging file to help improve performance and add to the life of the SSD drive

You're paying 90 bucks for that, 8GB will get you by just fine, most people only have 8GB anyway, and its not like you need 16 half the time regardless.

Yes, it is definitely a must have.
You'll find your OS runs much smoother in addition to taking a much shorter time to boot.
It might only save you a minute or two a day, but over the course of a year that works out to 6 hours of time saved or more.
