EVGA GTX 1080 FTW with a angled bracket?

I just bought a EVGA GTX 1080 FTW and it had an angled bracket on in it, instead of the normal L-shaped, 90 degree bracket that you normally get. Iin all the pictures you can find, you see the normal bracket.

I brought the card back, because I thought its broken, but the guy at the shop said, that it is normal and a diffrent version. But I cant find a picture or a forum post with ppl having the same problem. I cant find no spare parts to change the bracket.

Have I been lied to? Does this guy not know what he is talking about or is there really something like 30° angled bracket for certain cases?

That is definitely bent, that guy lied to you

Probably not a big deal, you could just bend it back, but you did pay a lot for it so you shouldn't have to settle for something like this

Its really strange, I did talk to the support guy face to face and told him he was wrong and that there isnt a sutch thing, but he was convinced that it is made that way and that probably all the cards of this serie have the same shape. Or that you normally get an extra second plate with the card that you can change out, so it would fit diffrent cases.

I just cant believe that. Its bs in my opinion

For a 800$ card you shouldn't settle for this. It was either damaged in shipping (most likely, but that should've left a mark on the box too) or a problem in the EVGA factory. The person at the shop was bullshitting you because he didn't want to deal with an RMA for a slightly bent bracket. You could either return the card or see if EVGA would be willing to just ship you a new bracket.

The was no damage on the package, nether on the bracket itself. It really looks like the bracket was manufactured that way. The are no stress marks on the metal itself. No damage to the coating.

Well, since I brought the bend one back, I got the money refunded to my onlineshop account. I phoned up the company and gave them a good long talk :p (Dont worry, I was polite) Now they are sending me a new one (Was the last one they had, apperently they are going away like crazy), so we will see once the card arrives.

I m still pissed, since today is my day of and I had planed on using the card. But what can you do ;) Thanks very mutch for you fast answers, really appriciate it. I m not that mutch off an expert, I know some stuff, but mostly surface level knowledge.
