I have three monitors that I would like to sync together for games running at 1080p... back in 2013 I recall seeing gaming systems running 3 monitors. Point is I want to get rid of my system that was originally set for editing. I have a better chance selling my system as a gaming system. So which current games in the market provide 3-way monitor First Person Shooters that aren't too high demanding in gameplay. I take it that games have different performance settings. For many gamers I'm sure 3 way monitor support is justified even in low settings, allowing more cost effective card to be used.

Always better to have 1 good card than 2-3 poor cards, you'll get more vram for starters as vram is not shared.
Also the latest nvidia cards, 1060 = no SLI, 1070 & 1080 max of 2 cards.
Also scaling on 2 cards is not perfect, on 3 cards is less perfect, so 2 cards a good result would be 180% of a single card, and for 3 cards perhaps 240%. A more normal result might be 150% and 200%.
Plus the additional heat that 3 cards create, the cabling nightmare and the poor airflow.

So I completely disagree with your last sentence.

A single 1070 is probably sufficient.
