I am trying to see if I can upgrade my wife laptop ram. But I dont know enough about the hardware to open it up. This is the specs for the laptop

Any help would be appreciated. Just tell me what more info I need to give.

Edit: I have found where the ram is located I just need to know what kind out chip i would need that is compatible. I don't want to buy one and it not fit properly.

I like to go to crucial.com and run their scanner: http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/systemscanner
This will tell you how much RAM you have and if it is 1 chip or 2. Likely that you have (1) 4GB chip in there and can simply add another 4GB chip but this will confirm.
The RAM you have is probably PC3-8500 and you will want to get the same type of RAM. You can always remove the RAM chip that is already there and look at the model number and even order the exact same brand and type.
