First of all I want to point out that I'm a huge newbie when it comes to hardware. I only know the very basics and I knew even less when I bought my computer a couple of years ago.

I'm a gamer, and I'm looking to upgrade my GPU very soon. I bought my computer new a couple of years ago, in parts, but I got a lot of help with putting it together. My current GPU is an ASUS GeForce GTX 760, but I am thinking of upgrading it to an ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 ROG Strix (I know there are other manufacturers with smaller designs, but I'm happy with ASUS and I know it should be fine in my system based on what I have figured out).
The problem I have is my case. The card is way longer than my current one, however this should not be a problem as I can remove some of the harddrive cages inside.
My case is a Cooler Master HAF 912 Advanced by the way. Without removing cages it is a couple of centimeters to small, not a problem though.

My motherboard is a B85M-G though, which from what I can understand is smaller than regular motherboards. I do not know if the card will fit under the removable cage, and I do not know how well such a big card will be on this basic, micro motherboard. Can anyone who knows the card and knows more than me, see from the pictures I included in the bottom of this post if the card will fit underneath the upper cages? They are not removable so I would have to cut them in order to fit something higher up. Also, are there anything I have missed? Something that may kill my joy if I get one and try to put it in my current system?
The removable cage is the one with my SSD in it. I only have one other hard drive so I have space for it somewhere else.

Thank you everyone.

(Dont worry about the dust, I'm cleaning the inside very very soon)

Solution
The PCI-E slot in any motherboard whether it is mini-ITX, micro-ATX, ATX, ATX-E are at a standard distance from the "back" edge of the mothebroard and thus any GPU will fit with any motherbaord (assuming PCI-E x16 of course).

Thus removing your drive cages in your HAF 912 will make the card compatible.

Now you should also make sure that your PSU is up to the task of that 1070.
If it is a quality 600w unit then great, if it is low quality then you could quickly find yourself with a bad PSU and a fried $400 GPU (now called a paper weight).

The Asus Strix card is a great choice ! However it will not fit in the case.
- Case Supports 270MM
-Card Length 297MM +
You have two choices... However you can either remove the HDD Cage or choose a short GPU like the EVGA FTW 1070.
The GPU will fit and youll have room if you remove the hard drive cages....
The other storage devices can be inserted above in the CD Drive bays. However if you get the EVGA FTW 1070 you will be hassle free and will not have to remove the HDD Cage. They also have amazing warranties along with RGB Lighting.
Good Luck!

CX750M. The problem with the smaller motherboard is that the GPU might be placed higher than on a normal sized board? Because only the middle cage is removable. That's why I hope it goes under. If not, I might just cut it off of course. But yeah, thanks :)
