In theory it will work, but would not be the first time that a company makes an adapter that they know will not work. The fact that it does not have a power cable concerns me as I have used several HDMI to VGA converts and they all needed power cables.

Again the most guaranteed way for it to work is for the OP to find a card with DVI-I...

It will work with that converter. Though personally I would suggest getting either a cheaper converter or a regular HDMI or DP monitor, just for the purpose of future proofing.

Bottom line though, it will work.

i got only one option nw buy a gpu..so i cant buy a monitor right nw

It will hopefully work, but no garantees. A lot fly-by-nite cables and adapters being sold on internet, some of them even impossibly adapting A to B.

The fact that the adapter does not have a power cable makes me even more skeptical about it working as you need an active circuit board to convert the signal, its not just a matter of senidng pin 7 of HDMI to pin 11 of VGA.


I would look into getting a graphics card with a DVI-I slot to it. The DVI-I offers true support for VGA with a simple DVI-VGA adapter.

yea i would like to buy a dvi-i to vga adapter for the 960 amp edition..but the gtx 1050/ti is been released but it doesnt have a dvi -i port it cost lesser than gtx 960..thts y am asking that

I do not really see any RX 470s with DVI-I ports but the 960 does have them.

Even if the description is not very informative you can look at the picture of the card at the DVI port, if it has the 4 pins around the large horizontal. pin it is DVI-I.
