Hi !

Need help with my first build, yesterday my PC suddenly shut down after using it for like One or two hours. I wasn't pushing it at all, simply internet browsing, YouTube and it turned off without errors, like cutting the electricity. It immediately turned on after like a classic restart and then stay fine.

I have had the same while playing a game (Mafia II, not a heavy one i guess) a week ago, but other days i have no problems at all.

Note that yesterday i think the cooler fans were louder than normal.
Also 2 or 3 times when turning it On, it directly turns Off then auto start with no problem after that.

I wasn't really worried about these 2 problems because it only happened these times on a 2 month period, but have to know what's wrong.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Second problem is that a few temperatures shown in monitoring apps are Very High, but i read on some forums that a few apps were showing wrong numbers, so i want to share that to have ideas.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Config :

i7 5930K
X99 Rampage V Extreme
16gb DDR4 Corsair Ram
Gigabyte G1 Gtx 1070
Corsair H100i V2 Cooler
Samsung 950 Pro M.2 SSD (Maybe the reason of high Temps on the board ?)
3 HDD
Corsair AX860i Psu (I just heard that they were not a good value ..)

Nothing is Overclocked yet, but i think i'm not ready for it with these issues :/

Thanks for the help :)

(i want to join some screenshots but can't join them ! how does it work here ? lol )

I don't mean to patronize, but just to cover the basics. Are you sure you installed the CPU cooler correctly? Mounted it properly, used the proper amount of thermal paste, etc.?

Thanks for the fast answers !
Yep, the cpu seems to be correctly installed as the PC works fine, i putted a "cross" of thermal paste and made sure that it's not overflowing.
About the pump, it is connected to "CPU_FAN" header so i think nothing is wrong about that too.

CPU temps are fine (from 31 up to 38°), high temps are on the motherboard in some monitoring applications. (68 to 109°)

If any information needed let me know !
(can send the monitoring screens by mail or else)

Alright i think it's the only explanation for the mobo temps, hope that it's not bad for the hardware, but what about shut down ?
if there are ways to check something i can try them
