GeForce Experience doesn't find new drivers

My new laptop came with GeForce Experience already installed (with a GTX 1070). I updated it to the new version 3, but decided I didn't need it and uninstalled it a few days later. I recently decided to re-install it (I don't know why) and for some reason it tells me that my current driver (version 372.54, release date August 14, 2016) is the latest driver. I went to the Nvidia drivers page to check, and there have been several updates after that one. I clicked the Check for Updates option in the tray notification but it does nothing except send me to the GFX driver window. How do I get it to find the newest drivers?

If I go to the Nvidia drivers and download the latest version for my 1070 notebook card, will it work correctly? Do I have to install the driver updates incrementally, or is each latest driver a cumulative update? Or does GFX download a custom driver appropriate for my build?

I accidentally chose your answer as solution but I really just wanted to reply. Anyway, the driver available on the Sager site is older than than one I have installed, so I went ahead and installed the reference 1070 driver from the Nvidia site.
